APAD- Day 133- Project 2

Sometimes, when you need a break from staring at the computer, you just have to step away and find something relaxing like starting a new project!

APAD- Day 132- Roasted Creature

I took a break from editing to make a grocery store run. While there I stumbled upon and decided to give the 5 lb turkey breast a try. I settled on a roasted recipe I found online and went to work on it... the problem with a turkey sans wings and legs would be the roasted oddity that looks more like a whale than a turkey!

APAD- Day 131- Setup Crew

I woke early today to photograph some of the setup crew as they prepped Crockett High School, a temporary location, for Gateway Church's Sunday morning service.

APAD- Day 130- Burr Bear

Hazel is basically velcro to all of the many burr weeds we have growing in the backyard. Stephen helps her out buy brushing them all out of her fur.

APAD- Day 129- Goat's Milk Ice Cream

A friend introduced us to this goat's milk ice cream at a party we had recently. Seeing as I am lactose intolerant, this one satisfied the craving and provides me with no ill effects! yay!

APAD- Day 128- Organic fed, free-range egg vs Standard grocery store egg

One came from a chicken that gets fed organic feed as well as about 12 hours to roam and forage. The other came from your standard grocery store chicken, which basically is coop kept (likely very crowded) and fed a standard feed.

Can you tell which is which? Do you prefer one over the other?

APAD- Day 127- Homemade plug-in sconces

We stayed at an amazing bed and breakfast during our honeymoon and in the bathroom of our room, they had this awesome yet simple vanity set up. This is my plug in version that will be surface mounted and hopefully wired to what was the overhead light.

APAD- Day 125- Cinco Corn

Cinco de Mayo + Nacho Libre Screening + grilled corn = a wonderful night with friends!

APAD- Day 124- Sweet roses

My awesome neighbor on the other side has a plethora of rose bushes and he gave us a handful the other day! I forgot to photograph them then, and this one is on it's way out, but it still brings a little cheerfulness to my bathroom!

APAD- Day 123- Rings and things

Just a glimpse at some cinnamon rolls from the neighborhood donut shop!

APAD- Day 122- Spring cleaning

The effectiveness of this image is lost as I was to busy cleaning and in the midst of it all to have remembered to take a before photo. I started with building another nesting box for the interior of the chicken coop after finding out 3rd egg only to have had the chickens peck a hole in it.

Then I had planned to make a dutch door for our laundry room. Unfortunately to get to that one door, I had to take everything out of the shed. Thus the added shelves and mass reorganizing! Before the rearrange you had to literally step on the lawnmower and climb on top of things to sift junk around. Now everything is accessible! 

APAD- Day 121- Nesting Box

I finally took the time to build the girls a nesting box. This one is just a simple one I made using scrap wood and some plans I found online at ana-white.com. The inside currently has fake turf and a golf ball for now. I've heard that sometimes they like that... I'll probably add some newspaper scraps for added measures. 

APAD- Day 120- Sunny Side Up

That wonderful egg we found... we promptly ate it the next morning! I thought to take this photo after I was nearly done with the cooking so I had a few seconds before my egg would become too over cooked for my liking! Whoops!

APAD- day 119- Found Treasures

Look at what goodies Stephen located in the backyard! I guess the chickens finally decided that they were ready to start hiding eggs in the backyard! :)

APAD- Day 116- Midway Food Park

On a spontaneous Saturday we decided to go check out the Midway Food Park off of Hwy 360. We found lots of parking and a wide array of wonderful food trucks to choose from! 

Stephen got Widespread Daves' Big Tex Burger

Then we shared Coolhaus' Chocolate cookie with Goat cheese and caramel ice cream sandwich

APAD- Day 115- Roscoe

 I generally like to use my 50mm lens as my walk around camera, but today I left the house and realized I still had the wide on from the night before! So here are a few pictures of my friend's dog Roscoe.

APAD- Day 114- Sunset chicken

The chickens have been getting more comfortable with their surroundings. Today the hens decided to venture around the deck with me sitting a mere few feet away.

APAD- Day 113- Sweet Stella

This is Stella. Well it is the back of Stella's head actually, as you can tell. The reason being is that my awesome neighbors have been and are in the process of adopting her! So until it becomes official, all of the other adorable photos of her face can't be posted for now! 

APAD- Day 112- Trees

I didn't really think to shoot anything today and the few frames I did shoot were just of a branch of this wonderfully shady tree.

APAD- Day 111- Spinach, egg and black bean scramble

I used to eat clean, and then life went on and my dedication to eating healthy fell by the wayside. Today is day one of eating clean again.

APAD- Day 110- Easter battle

For Easter, part of the activities include an egg toss (or water ballon if the eggs are forgotten) and a game of dodge ball but with balloons!
