06/06/14- Celtic Seafare for Austin American-Statesman

Six months ago I photographed this neat little place run by Sebastien Caillabet called Celtic Seafare. On most days he smokes fresh Atlantic and wild caught Salmon, but on Friday he does something in addition to that. He hosts a Friday's Supper Club! This one particular friday in June I got to swing by, hang out, and take photos! Enjoy!

11/29/14- Michael + Nina | Huns Rugby Field | Austin, Texas

I was contacted by Nina's Sister-in-Law Karen (I know Karen and her husband Erik from my Syracuse days) about a wedding that was going to happen in a few short days out on a wide open green rugby field at sunset, I jumped on the chance to shoot it! The wedding was lovely and intimate and I am glad I got to be a witness to their love.

Risky Business Workshop

Whether it be known or not, I have been slowly trying to roll out a wedding portion of my website. Well rather an extension of it, which will include a whole new website that will link back.

It's taken me some time to focus on and really figure out what direction I want to take it. I've been shooting weddings as a second shooter with my dear friend Sasha Haagensen for some time and I also shot weddings more often when I lived in DFW, but when I moved down here years ago, I decided that I wanted to focus on the editorial side of my photography.

Anyhow, on a last minute whim Sasha told me about a workshop that she was going to be attending and asked if I wanted in.

What an awesome decision that was! Risky Business Workshop was exactly the kick in the butt that I needed to get me to reassess my business and move it in the direction that I want it to go.

Bigger and better changes are coming soon!

APAD- Country Road

There is a photo in here somewhere. I envision this shot as a sunrise shot, perhaps with a different lens. I shot it today during sunset and I feel like it didn't do it any justice, so you'll likely see another edition of this shot some time later.

Sweet Hazel on the porch.

APAD- Helping hands

Stephen and I stopped to help a woman who had a blow out on her front passenger tire. We passed her on the way to town and on the way back it appeared that she was still there. Good thing my 3 flat tires from college and my mechanic daddy taught me well enough that we were successful in getting her back on her way!

Also shooting your own hands is a much bigger feat than I imagined! It involved a chair, the self timer, and my head/chin for leverage!

APAD- Open skies and tall trees

Big beautiful open skies and large trees all unobstructed by man made features. Wonderfully amazing! I wanted to try to spot the moon out there but couldn't find it behind the clouds!

I have a handful of photos from today and I couldn't decide on which elk photo I liked so I posted two for now.
