Thao Nguyen AMERICAN-STATESMAN 07/28/06Juniors at Westwood High School Lisa Gu, 16, Helen Wang, 16, Amber Makhani, 15, Kae Wang, 16, work in their converted guestroom-office to produce Candid Magazine. The girls hope to release their magazine to 12 local high schools around Austin and are having a premier party at BookPeople on August 12, from 7-9 p.m. Their magazine aims to provide entertainment and education for teens by teens. Five thousand issues were printed and the second issue is to come out next semester.
